The Maryland Terrapins (22-7, 12-6 Big Ten), the No. 13 team in the latest AP Poll, goes on the road to face a tough team in the No. 17-seeded Michigan Wolverines (22-7, 14-4 Big Ten) in a game between two of the top three teams in the Big Ten standings.

Led by freshman center Derik Queen’s 15.9 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, the Terrapins find themselves near the top of the Big Ten, having played phenomenal basketball all season long. Of their seven losses, not a single one was by more than six points. Head Coach Kevin Willard has Maryland performing on both sides of the ball, sporting the No. 23 scoring offense in the nation (82.1 per game) to pair with the No. 47 scoring defense (66.9). In addition to their star freshman center, the young Terps have four more players averaging in double figures, one a sophomore, two juniors, and one senior.
The Wolverines have been on the other side of the coin, either winning by a small margin or losing by double digits. Their last nine wins have all been within four points, while their last three losses were by 27, 13, and 20 points. Michigan sports a veteran squad, with two seniors and three juniors leading the scoring. Vladislav Goldin (7-foot-1) and Danny Wolf (7-foot-0) create a tough frontcourt tandem, combining to average 28.5 points, 16.1 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.
This game is important to both squads if they want to finish atop the Big Ten, as Michigan State (24-5, 15-3 Big Ten) holds a one-game lead over Michigan and a three-game lead over Maryland.
