Missouri and Florida will play a double header on Saturday evening after game two of their SEC series was postponed.
The Missouri Tigers will close out a series against the Florida Gators on Saturday evening at Condron Family Ballpark after game one was postponed on Friday night due to weather. The Tigers are still in search of their first SEC win this season and come into the series with a conference record of 0-13 and an overall record of 12-21 for a spot at the bottom of the standings. The team opened the series against Florida on Thursday, losing in an 11-2 defeat. Peyton Basler brought in the Tigers’ first run with an RBI double down the right field line in the third and Cayden Nicoletto followed with a run after getting walked shortly after Basler. Brady Kehlenbrink took the loss on the mound to drop to 0-3 on the season after giving up six earned runs in three innings of work.

With Thursday’s series-opening win, the Gators have now won two games in a row to improve to 22-14 overall and 2-11 in conference play. The team is sitting in 14th place in the conference standings and has a chance to move ahead of Mississippi State with wins in tomorrow’s double header. Luke Heyman powered the offense against the Tigers on Thursday, going 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBI after hitting a three-run shot to left field in the first and an RBI single in the fourth. Blake Cyr also blasted a homer to left field in the first to finish the game with one RBI. Liam Peterson picked up his fifth win on the season after getting the start on the mound and striking out seven in 5.0 innings of work.
