How to watch Oklahoma at Oklahoma State in NCAA college baseball non-conference game

While Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are no longer in the same conference, the Sooners and Cowboys will resume their Bedlam rivalry on the baseball diamond.

Oklahoma travels north to Stillwater to face Oklahoma State on Tuesday night in a non-conference contest. It will be the only regular-season game this season between the Bedlam rivals.

About the Sooners

OU (25-10, 7-7 SEC) opened the season by winning its first 11 ballgames, though wins have been hard to come by in the Sooners’ inaugural voyage through their new league. But in their last SEC series this weekend, the Sooners took two of three games against Vanderbilt.

Going into Tuesday’s game, OU is ranked No. 18 by D1 Baseball, one of 10 SEC teams ranked in the Top 25.

The Sooners are batting .283 as a team, averaging nearly seven runs a game, and their pitching staff has a 4.37 earned run average with 354 strikeouts in 303 innings. They also lead the SEC in stolen bases, getting a total of 82.

Oklahoma’s top hitter is junior outfielder Trey Gambill, who is hitting .337 and also leads the team in on-base percentage at .508. Sophomore infielder Jaxon Willits is second in hitting at .313 and leads OU in both home runs (9) and slugging percentage (.580), while junior catcher Easton Carmichael is batting .309 and leads the Sooners in RBIs (35).

About the Cowboys

OSU (16-17, 5-8 Big 12) was perceived to contend for the conference title, especially with OU and Texas having moved on to the SEC. But the Cowboys have yet to figure things out in their revamped league, standing under .500 and coming off a series loss to one of the Big 12’s newcomers, Arizona.

The Cowboys come into Tuesday’s Bedlam game batting .261 as a team with a .458 slugging percentage. Their pitching staff has compiled a 4.60 ERA.

Junior outfielder Brayden Smith is OSU’s top hitter, batting .313 with seven homers, and also has a team-high .565 slugging percentage. Colin Brueggemann, a senior infielder, and Nolan Schubart, a junior outfielder, share the team lead in RBIs at 32, with Schubart also topping the squad in homers (8) and on-base average (.450).

About the Series

OSU leads the all-time series, 189-160, and Josh Holliday, in his 13th season as the Cowboys’ coach, is 37-14 against the Sooners.

Last season, OU’s final one in the Big 12, the Cowboys won four of five games. That included a 9-3 win against the Sooners in the Big 12 Tournament championship game in Arlington, Texas.
