They opened up the ACC Baseball Championship in the first round on Tuesday with a game against No. 10-seeded Louisville. They came away with the win in a slugfest on the back of two hits, a home run, and five RBIs from Lorenzo Carrier.

Luke Cantwell and Jayden Melendez also homered in the win, with Cantwell posting two RBIs on his only hit. Ryan Reed started the game on the mound and gave up six earned runs on eight hits with two strikeouts over six innings. Ethan Firoved closed the game well, going three innings, giving up five earned runs on four hits with seven strikeouts.

The No. 7-seeded Blue Devils will enter the tournament in the second round after earning a high seed. However, they finished their season with a 17-13 record against teams in the conference and a 36-18 record overall. They finished off their regular season losing two of three games against Georgia Tech, the conference’s No. 1 seed, over the last weekend.

Reid Easterly has been the best player on the mound for the team this season. He was 8-2 over the regular season with a 3.28 ERA. In 31 appearances, he threw 54 strikeouts in 60.1 innings, giving up 22 earned runs. At the plate, Ben Miller had the best regular season. He finished with a team-high 18 home runs and 58 RBIs, while batting .330.
