A deciding Game 7 will be contested Monday in the NCAA Tournament Knoxville Regional at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
No. 14 national seed Tennessee (45-17) will face No. 2 regional seed Wake Forest (39-21). The winner between the Vols and Demon Deacons will advance to a super regional.
Wake Forest forced a Game 7 after defeating Tennessee, 7-6, on Sunday.
“What a great college baseball game that was,” Wake Forest head coach Tom Walter said. “Both teams played at a really high level for nine innings. Game could have gone either way. Two great ball clubs. Tennessee threw three really good guys out at us. I mean, (Brandon) Arvidson, I didn’t expect him to go as long as he did, and he was fantastic tonight. Then, obviously, Nate Snead, but our guys matched them pitch for pitch.”
