Arkansas didn’t just win the game – the Razorbacks shut out the Longhorns 9-0. It was an early onslaught from the Razorbacks, with all nine runs coming in the first four innings. The team had eight hits all from eight different players, with second baseman Cam Kozeal’s three-run home run in the third inning being the highlight.
On the mound, Arkansas limited Texas to just two total hits. Starter Zach Root threw eight innings and struck out 11 hitters, with Will McEntire closing things out by striking out the side in the top of the ninth.
As Arkansas looks to secure a series win on Friday, the Razorbacks will send junior righty Gage Wood to the mound. Wood’s most recent outing was his best of the year – he started at Florida last weekend and threw three scoreless innings.
Texas will counter with junior lefty Luke Harrison. Harrison is 4-0 in 11 starts this year, boasting a 2.81 ERA.
