How to watch the Edmonton Oilers vs. Detroit Red Wings – NHL (10/27/24)

DETROIT — After visiting western New York on Saturday, the Detroit Red Wings are back in Hockeytown on Sunday, as they prepare for a matchup with the Edmonton Oilers.

The Red Wings took a step in the first of their weekend back-to-back. On Saturday against the Buffalo Sabres, Detroit was outplayed once again, but did not get the same number of saves as they did in their previous games. Despite goals from Lucas Raymond, Alex Debrincat and Michael Rasmussen, the Wings fell by a score of 5-3, ending their three-game win streak.

Detroit was outshot 38-25, marking the seventh time in eight games they have fallen behind in the shot category.

The Oilers arrive on the eastern seaboard after taking care of the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night, coming away with a 4-0 win on home ice. The reigning Western Conference champions had an inauspicious start to the young season, starting 0-3 before finally picking up a win two weeks ago. Connor McDavid and company have started to pick things up lately, having registered points in four of their last five games.

This will be the first of two meetings this year between Edmonton and Detroit. The Oilers took both matchups with the Wings in 2023-24.
