The No. 1 UCLA Bruins will face the No. 6 USC Trojans in a primetime California showdown with first place in the Big Ten on the line. The top-ranked, undefeated Bruins travel across town to take on the red-hot Trojans in a must-watch matchup tipping off at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

This is the first of two meetings between these powerhouse programs, with the rematch set for March 1, which is the final game of the season for both teams. It also marks the first time in history that either UCLA or USC enters their rivalry matchup as the No. 1 team in the country.

At 23-0 overall and 11-0 in the Big Ten, UCLA is the only undefeated team in Division I basketball, men’s or women’s. Their lockdown defense has been a nightmare for opponents, as seen in their 62-52 win over Oregon, where they held the Ducks to just 26.6% shooting from the field. Londynn Jones stepped up in that game, dropping a season-high 21 points, while the Bruins’ defense tied its season-best mark with nine blocks.
USC (21-2, 11-1 Big Ten) is just half a game behind UCLA in the standings, looking to make a statement after bouncing back from an upset loss to Iowa with dominant wins over Wisconsin and No. 8 Ohio State. The win over the Buckeyes was their third victory over a ranked opponent this season, highlighted by three Trojans posting double-doubles, Kiki Iriafen, Kennedy Smith, and JuJu Watkins.
