The Bruins (23-0, 11-0 Big Ten) are undefeated in their inaugural season as a member of the Big Ten. They are the only unbeaten team left in Division I in both women’s and men’s basketball.
UCLA’s last game was a 62-52 victory over the Oregon Ducks in conference play on Feb. 9. Junior guard Londynn Jones powered through with a season-high 21 points and the Bruins garnered a season-high nine blocks to remain unbeaten.
The Bruins average 80.6 points per game while shooting 49.1% from the field. The defense allows just 54.7 points per contest.
UCLA has three players in double figures, including star junior center Lauren Betts, who averages 19.6 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting 63.1% from the field.
Junior guard Kiki Rice is averaging 12.7 points, 4.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 55.3% from the field, including 37.8% from beyond the arc.
The Trojans (21-2, 11-1) sit in second place in the Big Ten standings as they continue to bounce back from a loss to Iowa on Caitlin Clark’s jersey retirement night. Their only other loss is to Notre Dame.
Both the Bruins and the Trojans secured double-digit victories over Ohio State last week. That was USC’s third win over a ranked opponent this season.
The Trojans average 83.2 points per game while shooting 45.4% from the field. The defense allows 56.6 points per contest.
USC has three players in double figures, including superstar sophomore guard JuJu Watkins, who is averaging 23.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 43% from the field. She is the only conference players averaging more than 20 points per game. Watkins is a frontrunner for National Player of the Year.
Senior forward Kiki Iriafen, remains powerful presence inside, touts 18.0 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting 51.5% from the field.
The Bruins are 8-2 in their last 10 matchups against the Trojans. USC has bested its rival the last two times they have played. Their next encounter will be the regular season finale at Pauley Pavilion on March 1.
