Chicago is coming off back-to-back 5-3 losses. The team’s most recent was a 5-3 loss against the Vegas Golden Knights at home Friday. Chicago lost even though Ryan Donato had a phenomenal performance scoring a hat trick to earn the first star of the game. Donato scored the first goal of the game but then Vegas retook the lead scoring the first two goals of the second period. Donato looked like he was putting the entire team on his back earning the tying goal and go-ahead goal within 15 seconds of each other late in the second period. The problem was that Vegas scored three unanswered goals in the third to overshadow the hat trick.

Utah is coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to the Florida Panthers on Friday. It was much better performance than their previous game where they lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning 8-0. But Utah still had a difficult time generating any offense getting outshot 32-14. It was goalie Karel Vejmelka who kept Utah in the game at all making 30 saves earning the third star of the game. Sean Durzi tied the game early in the third period for Utah’s lone goal. Sam Bennett scored the game winner in overtime to sweep the season series against Utah 2-0.
