Washington looks to lock up a Big Ten series victory Saturday after beating Rutgers in the opener on Friday
Washington (12-15) drew first blood on Friday night in the opener of a three-game Big Ten Conference series at Rutgers (11-15). The teams go back to it on Saturday afternoon at Bainton Field in Piscataway, New Jersey, with the Huskies 5-2 in conference play and the Scarlet Knights checking in at 2-5. Washington, in its first season in the Big Ten, last played in the NCAA tournament in 2023 while its lone College World Series appearance in 2018 was later vacated by the NCAA. Rutgers hasn’t reached the NCAA tourney since 2007 and made its only College World Series trip in 1950.
