Former baseball star Alex Rodriguez played just 32 games against the Milwaukee Brewers in his career.
One question — is he aware that Bob Uecker announced those games?
Like many other athletes and entertainers, Rodriguez paid tribute to Uecker on social media Thursday after learning the Hall of Fame voice of the Brewers had died at 90.
However, his social media post made it appear as if Uecker was behind the mic for the Cleveland’s team instead of the Brewers, while still mentioning Uecker’s signature Brewers home run call.
Or maybe he’s just a really big “Major League” fan.
In the 1989 movie, Uecker plays Cleveland play-by-play announcer Harry Doyle. The team goes from worst to first and gets to the World Series for the first time since 1948.
So, yes, that movie did bring a bit of happiness to Cleveland, but, c’mon, man.
Uecker called Brewers games for 54 seasons.
