Iowa football LB Nick Jackson drawing attention in NFL draft process

As the predraft process for college football athletes who’ve declared for the upcoming NFL draft gets underway, Iowa Hawkeyes linebacker Nick Jackson has garnered attention from almost half of the league at the Hula Bowl.

Jackson, who finished his Hawkeyes tenure as the No. 2 all-time FBS leader in tackles with 555, has begun meeting with an astonishing 13 teams so far during the predraft process, with the New Orleans Saints being among the many teams interested.

In his six-year collegiate career, Jackson accrued 73 games played, 555 total tackles, 33 tackles for loss, 20 passes defensed, 17 sacks, three forced fumbles with a fumble recovery, and one interception.

In addition to the Saints, Jackson’s list of interested teams includes the Cowboys, Steelers, Panthers, Falcons, Buccaneers, 49ers, Bengals, Seahawks, Dolphins, Ravens, Lions and Bears.

While Jackson is viewed as an early Day 3 draft pick, he could potentially move into the Day 2 grouping with a strong performance in the pre-draft process.
