Is Texas A&M ranked in On3’s post-spring college football Top 25?

The 2025 college football season is still a little less than four months away, but we’ve already reached the preseason ranking portion of the offseason, all based on each Power 5 team’s spring football season, including Texas A&M under second-year head coach Mike Elko.

For many in the national media, Texas A&M is either a fringe top 25 team or, for some, safely in the top 15 depending on how they view starting quarterback Marcel Reed and the program’s newest transfer portal additions. Outside opinions of A&M improving next season are both fair and narrow-minded, especially regarding Reed’s ability in the pocket, as some have based his play solely on his struggles against the Texas Longhorns during the 17-7 loss last November.

Elko recognized the team’s struggles on both sides of the ball last season, especially in the secondary, as he went out and hired his former defensive assistant Lyle Hemphill, who served as James Madison’s defensive coordinator during the 2024 campaign, and was highly successful.

In the transfer portal, Elko and OC Collin Klein rebuilt the wide receiver room after adding KC Concepcion, Mario Craver, and Jonah Wilson, and combined with Terry Bussey, Izaiah Williams and Ashton Bethel-Roman, Texas A&M’s passing game should see stark improvement, paired with a deep running back room.

On defense, the Aggie interior is still lacking depth, but the edge group is one of the deepest in the SEC with Dayon Hayes, Tyler Onyedim, T.J. Searcy, and Samuel M’Pemba, who join Rylan Kennedy and Cashius Howell in what could be an elite pass rush rotation.

So, where should the Aggies accurately rank before the 2025 season? According to On3’s Ari Wasserman, Texas A&M is considered the 25th-ranked team after the spring football season. Here are the rest of his top 25 rankings:
