Former Alabama running back Mark Ingram is not buying the idea of Deion Sanders sacrificing an NFL opportunity for a college football program.
Deion Sanders Will Be a Package Deal With Shedeur Sanders, Says Mark Ingram
There have been rumors around Coach Prime’s future in Boulder, especially with top prospects like Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter leaving for the NFL. With the massive success he has had in Colorado by transforming a 1-11 program into a Big 12 powerhouse, he has been a hot subject in NFL circles.
In fact, there have been multiple reports of the Hall of Famer drawing interest from several NFL franchises for a head coaching job.
There were multiple openings, including his former Dallas Cowboys, looking for a new candidate to replace Mike McCarthy’s spot. Even though Deion Sanders shrugged off the idea, Ingram was adamant and believes the right opportunity could change the current scenario.
“You know, when you go get Shedeur, you know, Prime is going to be right there too, you know. And so it’s a respectable thing,” Ingram said to Jason Futz of Yahoo Sports in the first week of February 2025.
“You know, his father wants what’s best for him. He wants to put his son in the best place to be successful. So you evaluate that like, you know, the kid is going to have the right head on the right hand on the shoulder.
“He’s going to have a great support system and a Hall of Fame father, a Hall of Fame coach. He’s doing it all right now. So to be able to, you know, have a son who has a father who is going to push him to be the best, he’s going to be humble, he’s going to be a hard worker. I think it’s a plus for sure,” Ingram added while backing his claims.

According to the current NFL Draft order, the Tennessee Titans possess the No. 1 overall pick and could be in contention for Shedeur Sanders.
They are in need of a future franchise quarterback. If they pass on Coach Prime’s son, the Cleveland Browns and the New York Giants might potentially place a bet on him.
