Jeziel Serrano of Nederland signs to continue career at Hill College in Dallas

NEDERLAND, Texas — Another monumental day for the Bulldogs, Jeziel Serrano of Nederland High School has signed his National Letter of Intent to play baseball for Hill College.

The signing ceremony took place earlier today, adding another name to the Bulldogs for signings this academic year.

Serrano has been a standout player for the Nederland Bulldogs, his exceptional dedication to his craft and program helped bring about this tremendous honor.

His commitment to Hill College, located in Hillsboro, Texas, places him in NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) baseball.

In the 2024 season, the rebels had a difficult campaign.

24-29 overall record in the 2024 season, accompanied by a 10-22 conference record.

Looking to retool the program, head coach Chris Rateike is bringing in a committed and diligent player in Serrano.

In coach Rateike’s first season with the program, he was a sole win away from the NJCAA World Series.

The addition of Serrano is expected to help begin to bring the program back to championship caliber.

The Nederland community has rallied behind Serrano, celebrating his achievements and looking forward to his future contributions at Hill College.

Once again the 409 area has produced yet another collegiate talent to add to it’s already rich history.

Serrano still has his Senior season left to play at Nederland, but we at 12News and the 409 community are excited and we wish Serrano luck on his future endeavors!
