KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Tennessee Head Coach Josh Heupel is being joined by VFL legends Deon Grant and Larry Seivers on the 2026 College Football Hall of Fame ballot.
Heupel, who was also a former national champion quarterback with Oklahoma, is entering his fifth season with the Vols. He led the Sooners to the 2000 national championship with a win in the Orange Bowl and in two seasons, rewrote the Oklahoma record books. It is his sixth time appearing on the ballot.
Grant starred on the Vols’ stellar defense from 1997-99, a period that included the 1998 national championship and a pair of SEC titles in 1997 and 1998. Grant, who is a member of the Tennessee Sports and Georgia Sports Halls of Fame, is making his debut on the ballot.
Seivers became the first Vol to eclipse 800 receiving yards in a single season back in 1975, and he left Tennessee with more catches than anyone at 117 and most receiving yards gained at 1,924.
Heupel, Grant and Seivers are three of the 79 FBS players that appear on the 2026 ballot. Click here to view the full ballot.
