Juan Soto shows his humble side with a great gesture of solidarity for Christmas

Latin American baseball players who fulfill their dream of reaching the Major Leagues get deals that allow them to earn more than they could aspire to in their respective countries, but when it comes to Juan Soto, the Dominican baseball player broke any mold by signing the most lucrative contract in MLB history for $765 million over 15 years with the New York Mets. This is a figure that allows him to share some of his wealth with his community, as he has just done while he is in his homeland to vacation and enjoy the Christmas and New Year holidays.

In a video circulating on social media, Juan Soto was seen handing out Christmas gifts to adults and children in the neighborhood where he grew up in the Dominican Republic, at an event where he also took the time to dedicate an emotional message of thanks.

“Thank you all for being here and supporting me and my family. On another occasion more than what we bring here to help you and help the community, the neighborhood that saw me grow up from small, where I spent many, but thank God we did it, we achieved the goal,” said Juan Soto during the event, in which he is seen handing out the boxes.

It’s not the first time Juan Soto has given back to his community, as he usually maintains the link with his roots, but this time he did it as the highest-paid baseball player in history. Despite being a great MLB star, he has shown that he is also a role model off the field, while taking a break to recharge his batteries ahead of his presentation with the Mets, where he will be expected to deliver results from day one in Queens.

“Thank you all for being here, and for supporting each one of us, we bring a little bit of what we have, a little help for all of you, I hope you can take advantage of it,” said Juan Soto in his speech, which was received by applause from those who at some point in their lives were the neighbors who watched him grow up in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
