K-Wings host first of their NHL Street hockey camps of the summer

The Kalamazoo Wings hosted the first of their street hockey camps Wednesday.

The camps, called “Joel Martin’s ‘Game On’ Street Hockey,” is powered by NHL Street and partnerships with The Kalamazoo Promise and Kzoo Parks, and facilitates the free cost of the camps for over 200 children.

Five Street Hockey camps will be held total at Kalamazoo’s Upjohn and LaCrone parks from June to August.

The camp is hosted by K-Wings head coach Joel Martin, with assistance from K-Wings players and staff.

“We’re proud to see NHL Street™ making a real impact in our community by giving kids a fun, accessible way to stay active and build confidence through street hockey,” Joel Martin said.

Campers learn basic hockey fundamentals, and participate in a hockey tournament inside an NHL Street branded street hockey arena.
