Kansas had eight players from the 2024 roster move on to play professional baseball, the most players in a single year in program history. Six of those eight now playing professionally spent time at a junior college before coming to Kansas (Hunter Cranton, Tegan Cain, Ben Hartl, Evan Shaw, Reese Dutton and J’Briell Easley).
Below is an excerpt from The JBB:
“Their new coaching staff has initiated a rebuilding process that heavily emphasizes recruiting from the junior college level. Both Head Coach Dan Fitzgerald and Recruiting Coordinator Jon Coyne possess extensive connections within the junior college landscape, enabling them to attract top talent and guide the Jayhawks toward their desired goals.”
The Jayhawks will begin the 2025 season on Feb. 14 at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi, Texas, for the fourth straight season. Kansas will be looking to make another jump in 2025 after finishing with an overall record of 31-23 and a 15-15 mark in conference play last season. KU advanced to the semifinals of the Big 12 Championship in 2024 for the first time since 2013.
Season tickets for the 2025 Kansas Baseball season are now available. To purchase season tickets, fans can visit the KU online ticket office or call 800-34-HAWKS.
