Knicks reportedly received several ‘Fu*k No’s’ in head coaching search

The Knicks have reportedly been firmly rejected on multiple attempts to speak with candidates for the head coaching job.

The New York Knicks continue their search for a new head coach after firing Tom Thibodeau following their playoff exit in the Eastern Conference Finals.

As previously reported, the Knicks targeted several current NBA head coaches under contract with other teams but were ultimately rejected in at least five attempts to speak with them.

The list of coaches the Knicks tried to interview includes Billy Donovan (Bulls), Ime Udoka (Rockets), Chris Finch (Timberwolves), Quin Snyder (Hawks), and Jason Kidd (Mavericks).

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, those teams had absolutely no interest in speaking with the Knicks and issued some firm rejections.

“Out of the 5 rejections, some of the scenarios that I heard was, you know: Teams would just hang up,” Charania said on The Rich Eisen Show.

“They would say no—and hang up. Teams would have maybe some profanity, maybe there is some ‘F* no,'” he added.

As of now, the Knicks reportedly have two frontrunners for the job and are expected to interview former Memphis Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins and ex-Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown for the head coaching position next week.
