Texas Tech transfer forward Darrion Williams has exited the NBA Draft, per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, and the race is on for one of the best available free agents. Williams, who ranks No. 6 overall in the 2025 portal rankings, averaged 15.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.3 steals for a 28-win Texas Tech club that finished second in the Big 12 and was on the doorstep of a Final Four appearance.
Williams told 247Sports at the NBA Draft Combine that he is “open” to a return to Texas Tech, but running it back looks unlikely after the Red Raiders paid up for JT Toppin, Washington State transfer LeJuan Watts and VCU transfer Luke Bamgboye.
Below is a look at who leads for Williams right now, a full scouting report, along with how the former Texas Tech forward would fit within the roster at each potential destination.
