Legendary NBA star calls Auburn basketball following its March Madness victory

Sunday evening was one to remember for Auburn men’s basketball, beating Michigan State to clinch its second ever Final Four berth.

The celebrations began in State Farm Arena, but went all the way down I-85 to Toomer’s Corner in Auburn. It was the first time Auburn cut down the nets this season, not doing so after winning the Southeastern Conference regular season title.

Mixed in the celebrations was a moment on the team bus when Auburn got a call from a basketball legend, former Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen.

With the team gathered around, Auburn center Dylan Cardwell asked Pippen if Auburn assistant coach Corey Williams “was a bucket,” to which Pippen responded saying, “Yeah,” eliciting cheers from the team. Williams and Pippen played together with the Bulls from 1992-1993.

Auburn’s Final Four game against Florida is set to tip off Saturday at 5:09 p.m. from the Alamodome in San Antonio. The game will be televised on CBS.
