LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty Flames baseball team has released its schedule for the 2025 season.
In its first season under head coach Bradley LeCroy, Liberty is scheduled to host 31 home games at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium. The Flames are slated to open the 2025 season and LeCroy era at home with a three-game series against St. John’s, Feb. 14-16.
Highlighting the season, Liberty will host the 2025 CUSA Baseball Championship at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium, May 21-25.
2024 NCAA Regional Teams Fill the Schedule
After sporting one of the strongest non-conference schedules in the nation each of the past two years, the Flames will again face another challenging slate in 2025. Liberty is slated to play 21 games against teams that participated in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. Liberty is scheduled to face 2024 College World Series participants Virginia (twice) and N.C. State and Super Regional participant Clemson (twice). In addition, the Flames will square off with NCAA Tournament teams Dallas Baptist (three), St. John’s (three), Duke (twice), UNCW (three), Louisiana Tech (three) and Wake Forest (two).
Nine of the contests against 2024 NCAA Regional teams are scheduled for Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium, while 12 contests are on the road.
Home Sweet Home
The Flames are scheduled to host 31 games at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium, considered one of the premiere facilities in college baseball. In their second season in CUSA, the Flames will host five three-game conference series. In addition, Liberty will host St. John’s, Xavier, Central Michigan and Princeton for a three-game nonconference home series. During the midweek, the Flames will welcome Wake Forest, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Duke during the season.
CUSA Schedule
Kennesaw State joins CUSA to make the conference a 10-team league for 2025. Each team in the conference will play nine three-game series.
Liberty opens conference play with a three-game series at home against the New Mexico State Aggies, March 21-23. The Flames will also host Middle Tennessee, Western Kentucky, Kennesaw State and 2024 CUSA Champion Dallas Baptist.
The Flames will face Jacksonville State, Louisiana Tech, Sam Houston and FIU on the road in conference.
Eight teams will move on to the 2025 CUSA Baseball Championship at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium in Lynchburg, Va., May 21-25. The 2025 Championship will feature a double-elimination bracket with a winner-takes-all championship.
