
DOYLESTOWN — The King’s College baseball team earned a split on the road Saturday in MAC Freedom baseball.
In the first game, the Rams limited King’s to just three hits in the 4-0 victory. Delaware Valley jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two, and tacked a run on in the fourth. Zach Day had a double, and Troy Neff and Jaiden Wanamaker added singles.
In the nightcap, King’s scored eight in the second and roped 12 hits to salvage the split. Zach Jenkins drove in six runs with a double and home run. Neff, Wanamaker, Day and Jacob Sutton each added two hits as Vincent Mattio picked up the win, allowing two hits in three innings of work.
Misericordia 2, Lebanon Valley 1; Lebanon Valley 1, Misericordia 0: In Annville, Misericordia baseball picked up a MAC Freedom split at Lebanon Valley.
In Game 1, Brooks Kanwisher and Jeff Policarpio each had RBIs as the Cougars snapped a four-game losing streak with a 2-1 win. Kanwisher had two hits, Jack Regenye added a triple and Bryan Henry tossed a complete-game five-hitter with 10 strikeouts.
In the second game, LVC was limited to just three hits, but pushed one run across in the first in what turned into a 1-0 pitcher’s clash. Misericordia had six hits, but couldn’t score against two LVC pitchers. Brock Bollinger and Jake McDonough combined for four of the six Cougar hits as John Schmidt and Owen Daminger combined on a three-hitter with six strikeouts.
Wilkes 6, Juniata 1: At Bruggeworth Field, Wilkes rallied from an early, 1-0 deficit to pick up the Landmark Conference victory.
Nathan Loch drove in two runs, Devin Markert added two hits and Luke Spencer’s fifth-inning single put the Colonels ahead for good.
West Scranton graduate AJ Levandoski tossed a complete game, allowing just five hits and striking out 10 with only one walk.
Men’s lacrosse
Lebanon Valley College 15, King’s 7: At McCarthy Stadium, LVC scored at least four goals in three of the four quarters in the MAC victory.
Grant Parshall led the Monarchs with two goals. Jake Cierech, Matt Dellapi, John Wall, Ryan Lynch and Brenden Lynch also netted scores.
Goucher 24, Wilkes 0: In Towson, Md., Goucher jumped out to a 15-0 lead at halftime en route to the Landmark victory.
Gianni Karam led Goucher with seven goals, and teammate Milan Temple added five.
Women’s lacrosse
Lebanon Valley 20, King’s 4: In Annville, the Aggies put an 11 spot on the scoreboard in the first half to roll for the MAC victory.
Emily Kane netted two of the four Monarch goals, while Alli Lindsay and Chloe Burke both scored.
Goucher 21, Wilkes 6: At Schmidt Stadium, Goucher jumped out to a 12-2 lead at haltime en route to the victory.
Wilkes’ Brooklyn Pedana had a big night, scoring four of the Colonels’ six goals. Taylor Sparks and Emily Jackson each netted goals.
Stevens 19, Misericordia 4: At Mangelsdorf Field, Stevens broke the match open with a 10-goal third quarter in the MAC victory.
Miseri’s Rachel Shook finished with a hat trick. Teammate Delaney Campanella scored the fourth Cougar goal, while Stevens’ Emily Leiby led all scorers with six.
Men’s volleyball
Misericordia 3, Stevenson 1; St. John Fisher 3, Misericordia 0: At the Anderson Center, Misericordia split a pair of matches Saturday.
In the MAC match, Misericordia dropped the first set, but rebounded to sweep the next three to earn the No. 3 seed in the upcoming conference playoffs. Cougar senior and Holy Redeemer graduate Jared Piontkowski had a big match with 27 kills and three blocks. Anthony DePalma added 11 kills and one ace, while Gannon DeFrain finished with 47 assists and 11 digs. Benjamin Clendening finished with eight blocks.
In a nonleague match, St. John Fisher picked up a victory, 25-20, 25-23, 25-21. DePalma added 15 kills to his total and Piontkowski finished with 10 kills, three blocks and seven digs.
Men’s golf
Misericordia 321, Wilkes 343: At Huntsville, Brett Herman had the low round on the day, and Misericordia edged out Wilkes in the rain Saturday.
Herman shot a 4-over 76 to lead all golfers. Wilkes’ Brady Noone shot a Colonel-best 78, while Misericordia’s Ryan Vallach rounded out the top three with a 79.
