LSU baseball-Arkansas game delayed due to weather. Here’s when the game will start

BATON ROUGE – LSU baseball’s series opener against Arkansas on Friday night has been delayed due to inclement weather.

Officials announced the decision to push back the start of Game One of the top-5 series between No. 4 LSU (38-11, 15-9 SEC) and No. 2 Arkansas (40-9, 17-7). A new start time has not been decided.

The game was initially scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch time at Alex Box Stadium. This marks the second game this week that the Tigers have had delayed or canceled due to weather. Their final midweek contest of the season against Grambling State Tuesday was called off.

LSU comes into the pivotal series against the Hogs off a disappointing series loss at Texas A&M last weekend. The Tigers were a handful of outs away from winning the series but they gave up a lead in the bottom of the eighth inning in game three and could not rally in the ninth.

The Razorbacks are arguably the hottest team in college baseball right now. Arkansas just swept No. 1 Texas at home last weekend, outscoring the Longhorns 28 to 9.

Sophomore lefthander Kade Anderson will get the start for the Tigers. He has a 6-1 record with a 3.57 ERA.

Arkansas will give the ball to junior lefty Zach Root, who leads the team in wins with a 6-3 record to go along with a sporty 3.95 ERA.
