OMAHA, Neb. — What will LSU baseball and Coastal Carolina have in store for Game 2 of the 2025 College World Series on Sunday afternoon?
The best-of-three series opener Saturday night saw a historic performance from LSU sophomore pitcher Kade Anderson, who threw a complete game shutout in a 1-0 victory for the Tigers.
While LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson hasn’t announced a starting pitcher for Sunday’s game, the ball will likely go to the team’s second ace pitcher Anthony Eyanson, who has won 11 games this season. Can Eyanson keep Coastal (56-12) off the scoreboard like Anderson did?

Coastal is going to counter with its ace Jacob Morrison, who ranks third in the college baseball this season with 12 victories. He’s compiled 102 strikeouts this season in 104 innings pitches.
The Tigers (52-15) can clinch their program’s eighth NCAA title with one more win in Omaha.

LSU baseball vs Coastal Carolina prediction
LSU 3, Coastal Carolina 1: Both offenses will struggle to consistently generate anything against Eyanson and Morrison as Game 2 in the series will be another low-scoring affair. LSU’s bats will find a way to chase Morrison and ultimately do some damage against the Chanticleers’ bullpen to score a couple of late runs to put the game away. The Tigers win the 2025 College World Series national championship.
