EA Sports is set to release Madden 26 – the latest installment of its popular NFL video game franchise – on Aug. 14, 2025.

Football fans got their first look at the game Wednesday when the company released the first trailer for it.

The Madden 26 trailer was two minutes in length and was designed to showcase the game’s “cutting-edge features powered by advanced physics and AI-powered machine learning systems.”

Plenty of highlight-reel plays were included in the Madden 26 trailer, with cover athlete Saquon Barkley’s backward hurdle being the most notable of the bunch.

Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen were also prominently featured, while the trailer also highlighted the Minnesota Vikings‘ “SKOL” chant and gave a nod to Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell’s aggressive play calling.

The Madden trailer also showcased two of the game’s prominent new features: “Coach DNA” and “QB DNA.” The Coach DNA feature “employs real philosophies, backed by nearly a decade of NFL data” to create tendencies for each coach while the QB DNA” feature provides signal-callers with “signature throwing motions, pocket presence, scrambling styles, authentic arm slots and more.”

Those additions to the game are part of the reason EA Sports senior vice president and group GM Daryl Holt touted Madden 26 as the most “lifelike” edition of the game to date.

“Madden NFL 26 represents a leap forward in delivering the authenticity and control our players crave,” Holt said in a press release. “QB DNA and Coach DNA, combined with explosive movement and physics-based interactions, create the most lifelike NFL experience yet. With deeper modes and true-to-life presentation, Madden NFL 26 delivers an NFL experience that’s as close to the real thing as it gets.”
