Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats are gearing up for year number two with summer officially arriving.
The team will have an entirely new look, with the majority of the roster from last season not returning.
One name that is still up in the air on returning is Otega Oweh, who is currently going through the pre-draft process.
While the roster is almost completed, Pope and his staff are working on the exhibition schedule as well.
Kentucky has already announced it will be hosting Purdue in Lexington for an exhibition game, but Pope recently stated that they are working on getting another team locked down to play as well.
“We are working on another exhibition game that I think’s gonna be terrific,” Pope said in a recent interview with local media, “I am excited about it for our fan base, and I am excited about it for college basketball.”
Pope is clearly high on getting good competition early in the basketball season.
“When you play against great teams, it teaches you so much about yourself, and having a chance to do that in an exhibition where the cost might not be so high,” said Pope.
The team has not officially been announced yet, but it will be another great opportunity for Pope and his guys to feel the energy of gameday before it all truly matters.
