Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule took a victory around ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum on Tuesday evening. Earlier this year, the two went back and forth when the Husker coach said that the Big Ten deserved four College Football Playoffs bids.
“I think we’ll have a lot of access to the College Football Playoff. I think four teams from this league should get in every year because this is the best league. This is the NFL of college football, in my mind. It stretches from coast to coast, different time zones, different weather.”
Finebaum fired back on ESPN’s Get Up and was blunt with his response.
“Man, stay in your lane! Job one: Win enough games to get to some stupid bowl game. Don’t worry about the big boys, because you’re not one of them.”
Following the Ohio State Buckeye’s victory over Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the College Football National Championship Game, Finebaum was forced to admit to the Big Ten’s dominance over college football.
“The answer is yes, the Big Ten at the moment owns college football. And there’s no way you can say it doesn’t when you go back-to-back.”
