Meet Audi Crooks: The college basketball standout praised by Kevin Garnett and poised to become a March Madness star

Crooks’ rising career trajectory began at Bishop Garrigan High School in Algona, Iowa, where she shone across a variety of sports.

She won four state titles in women’s field events and featured on the volleyball team, where she achieved first-team all-conference honours as a junior. But it was in basketball that Crook really set herself a part.

By her senior year, Crooks averaged 32.9 points, 13.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.8 blocks per game, breaking the single-season state scoring record while shooting 75.2 per cent from the field. She was named Iowa Miss Basketball and earned her fourth-straight First-team All-State selection.

During her four years at high school, Bishop Garrigan had an 101-8 record.

Heading into the NCAA Divsion I women’s basketball tournament, also known as March Madness, Crooks sits seventh in scoring with her 23.2 points per game average.

The All-Big 12 First Team unanimous pick will be driving hopes of a significant tournament run for Iowa State when the action gets underway.
