Early Evening ET
(15) Michigan State at (13) Maryland, 6:30 (BTN)
(25) Mississippi at (1) Auburn, 7 (ESPN)
(43) Vanderbilt at (17) Texas A&M, 7 (SECN)
(83) Georgetown at (38) UConn (at Hartford), 6:30 (FS1)
(101) Notre Dame at (23) Clemson, 7 (ACCN)
(232) Fordham at (65) George Mason, 7 (ESPN+ ($))
(75) Dayton at (124) Rhode Island, 7 (CBSSN)
(92) St. Bonaventure at (82) Saint Joseph’s, 7 (Peacock ($))
(217) Queens at (119) North Alabama, 7 (ESPN+ ($))
(344) USC Upstate at (86) High Point, 7 (ESPN+ ($))
(281) Navy at (236) American, 7 (ESPN+ ($))
Michigan State is threatening the 2 line at this point, while Maryland is nearing line 4 (a pathetic non-conference slate may limit the Terps’ ceiling), so one of the earliest tip-offs of the night is among the most important.
On Sunday, the ASUN Tournament will tip-off with the bottom four qualifiers pairing off for preliminary round games feeding into Monday’s quarterfinals—with those contests all being held on the home floors of the top two seeds. North Alabama and Lipscomb, who is in action during the next window, are in line to host those preliminary games. Another mid-major leader in action is High Point out of the Big South. The Panthers host USC Upstate in their regular-season finale, since they’ll have a bye during the conference’s final game day, Saturday.
Mid-Evening ET
(69) Penn State at (56) Indiana, 8:30 (BTN)
(50) Villanova at (210) Seton Hall, 8:30 (FS1)
(178) Rice at (48) Memphis, 8 (ESPN+ ($))
(57) Drake at (244) Evansville, 8 (ESPN+ ($))
(94) Arkansas State at (303) Louisiana, 8:30 (ESPN+ ($))
(127) South Alabama at (298) Southern Miss., 8:30 (ESPN+ ($))
(348) Central Arkansas at (87) Lipscomb, 8 (ESPN+ ($))
While Indiana hosts Penn State in the biggest bubble game of the 8 Eastern hour, Villanova cannot afford a loss at Seton Hall if it wants to remain in the hunt. Memphis, meanwhile, will look to avoid picking up a bad late home loss to Rice. In the Valley, Drake can clinch the No. 1 seed for Arch Madness outright by winning at Evansville.
Sun Belt leader James Madison took out ULM last night, 85-79, while second-place Troy won at Texas State, 74-69. Tonight, the Red Wolves and Jaguars—both a half-game behind the Trojans for second—hit the road. Positioning for the top four will be vital, thanks to the seven-round stepladder bracket the Sun Belt’s 14 teams will encounter in Pensacola starting next Tuesday. Regular-season finales are set for Friday night.
Late Evening ET
(39) Texas at (40) Arkansas, 9 (ESPN2)
(14) Kentucky at (51) Oklahoma, 9 (SECN)
(103) Virginia at (64) Wake Forest, 9 (ESPNU)
(18) St. John’s at (76) Butler, 9 (CBSSN)
(144) DePaul at (34) Creighton, 9 (Peacock ($))
(73) Utah at (9) Arizona, 9 (ESPN+ ($))
(193) Boston College at (85) Stanford, 9 (ACCN)
Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Wake Forest could all use home wins for their respective at-large cases, though beating Virginia tonight is a matter of harm reduction for the Demon Deacons. St. John’s can clinch a share of the Big East crown by winning at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Pac-Related-Teams After Dark
(33) Utah State at (47) Boise State, 10:30 (FS1)
(35) Ohio State at (72) USC, 10:30 (BTN)
(28) BYU at (60) Arizona State, 9:30 (ESPN+ ($))
(62) San Francisco at (79) Oregon State, 11 (CBSSN)
(41) SMU at (125) California, 11 (ESPNU)
Boise State has a great opportunity to boost its hopes by knocking of Mountain West co-leader Utah State. Ohio State and SMU both need to take care of business on the road. In the WCC, San Francisco needs to complete a season sweep of Oregon State to keep pace with Gonzaga, who took down Santa Clara last night, as the Dons and Zags’ regular-season finale showdown looms on Saturday night.
