Ohio State and Michigan clash Saturday in Columbus for the 119th installment of college football’s premier rivalry. The Buckeyes have lost three straight to the Wolverines but are backed by the largest point spread in nearly five decades at 20.5 points, per FanDuel. Bucknuts‘ Dave Biddle and Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider analyzed key players and matchups and offered their predictions ahead of the highly-anticipated matchup at The Shoe.
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day told reporters this summer he’s looking for a convincing win over Michigan and wants to leave “no doubt” against the Wolverines. That mindset favors Sherrone Moore, according to Webb, who predicts the Buckeyes coach “will fold” if the game is close in the fourth quarter.
On paper, it’s Ohio State’s game to lose. Michigan has lost two of its last three games and has tied its most losses in a season since 2017 with a 6-5 record entering Week 14. The Wolverines are 0-4 against ranked competition. There are multiple factors at play for both teams, all of which Biddle and Webb analyze in depth.
