STARKVILLE — Mississippi State baseball begins its fourth SEC series of the season this weekend, but its first against a non-top 10 team.
The Bulldogs (17-12, 1-8 SEC) are hosting South Carolina (18-12, 1-8) for a three-game series at Dudy Noble Field beginning on Friday (6 p.m., SEC Network+).
The Gamecocks hired Paul Mainieri, the former longtime LSU coach, as their new coach this season. They rank last in the SEC in runs scored. Their one conference win is against Oklahoma, just like MSU.

Saturday’s game time at Dudy Noble Field has been moved up two hours to noon because of anticipated severe weather conditions. The Ron Polk Ring of Honor Ceremony will now begin at 8 a.m. Saturday.
