Mississippi State baseball vs South Carolina score today: Live updates, how to watch

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State baseball came out buzzing with three runs in the first inning but then never scored again.

The Bulldogs (17-13, 1-9 SEC) lost 7-3 to South Carolina (19-12, 2-8) on Friday at Dudy Noble Field. It’s their worst record through 10 conference games in program history.

The Gamecocks took a 5-3 lead in the sixth inning after consecutive errors committed by shortstop Dylan Cupp. MSU loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning with one out, but couldn’t drive in a run. Cupp struck out for the second out before Gehrig Frei lined out to center field.

First baseman Hunter Hines hit a double in the first inning that drove in two runs. Center fielder Bryce Chance followed it with an RBI single.
