Missouri basketball transfer portal tracker: Here’s who is in, out for Mizzou

The college basketball transfer portal is open.

For the next 30 days — with this portal window open from Monday, March 24, to April 22 — Missouri basketball will put together the final pieces on its 2025-26 roster. As it stands Monday morning, the Tigers have 12 scholarship players eligible to return.

Six Mizzou players exhausted their college eligibility in MU’s season-ending loss to Drake in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last Thursday: point guard Tony Perkins; guards and wings Marques Warrick, Tamar Bates and Caleb Grill; center Josh Gray; and preferred walk-on Jeremy Sanchez.

Everyone else from the 2024-25 roster players can return next season, and Mizzou will add Tolton point guard Aaron Rowe and St. Louis product Nicholas Randall in its Class of 2025.

The expected approval of revenue sharing in college athletics next month will limit college basketball roster sizes to 15 players. That means Missouri, as things stand Monday, can add three players in this portal window.

Of course, situations are always likely to change in the transfer era.

The Tribune will keep up with every incoming and outgoing Mizzou player on this page over the course of the next month and beyond:

Which Mizzou players are transferring out?

As of the portal opening Monday, no Missouri players have announced their intention to enter the transfer portal. If and when that occurs, we will update this section with the Tigers’ outgoing players.

Live updates from the portal will be posted below these evolving lists:

What does Missouri basketball need from the transfer portal?

Mizzou is entering the portal window with 12 scholarship players eligible to return next season. That would mean the Tigers can only sign three players out of the portal over the next month or so.

That, however, is extremely fluid. Where the Tigers go from here will be highly dependent on who stays and who leaves.

However the next few weeks play out, Missouri needs some shooters and an experienced big man.

The Tigers are short at shooting guard and wing, now needing to replace the massive production left behind by Tamar Bates and Caleb Grill. The duo were two of MU’s top three scorers and took more 3-point attempts than anyone else on the roster last season.

Mizzou needs a go-to scorer and probably will chase at least two players who can play at the two or three.

With Marshall and Burns still lacking significant college experience, Missouri also likely will chase a center with some high-level experience — a la Gray last season. Whether the Tigers target another rebounder, like Gray, or go for a big man with more proven offensive production will be intriguing.

Robinson and Barrett leave the backcourt in promising hands, but perhaps a little understaffed. With options currently limited, Robinson may move over to more of a combo guard role in his junior season, and adding another player to run the point could help relieve some ball-handling duties.

Which players has Mizzou reportedly contacted?

As of Sunday evening, the X account The Portal Report has indicated that Missouri has contacted multiple players already in the transfer portal. This is not necessarily an indication of an offer, but that the Tigers have reached out to either the player or their representatives.

Miami small forward Paul Djobet, Western Michigan wing Markhi Strickland, Long Beach State combo guard Devin Askew, Virginia Tech shooting guard Jaydon Young and Coastal Carolina guard RaSheed Jones each have heard from Mizzou, per The Portal Report.

Askew is perhaps the most intriguing name on the board. He averaged 18.9 points and 4.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game for Long Beach State last season. Before arriving at LBSU, he played one season at Kentucky and Texas and two years at California — Gates’ alma mater.

Strickland and Jones are the only players who regularly started last season, scoring 11.3 and 11.6 points per game, respectively, in the 2024-25 campaign.
