MLB Hope-O-Meter: How optimistic are you about your team in 2025?

A year ago, we asked our readers: Are you hopeful for your favorite MLB team this year? More than 22,000 responses poured in. The most optimistic fan base was the Baltimore Orioles. Least optimistic? The Colorado Rockies.

The eventual champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers, ranked sixth. But buried within the thousands of written replies were two that stood the test of time. There was this gem from Casey: “I’ve got about one billion mostly deferred reasons to feel good about this team.” And another, from JB: “They did a real-life offseason at the same insane level that comment section reply guys concoct in their heads.” Much of the baseball world still shares those sentiments, with the Dodgers doing more winning, deferring and comment-section-reply-guy-level adding this offseason.

Now we’re back with that same question for our fourth annual MLB Hope-O-Meter. Whether your team is rebuilding or all-in for a World Series ring, are you optimistic? In the very short survey below, that question requires a yes/no answer. Then, if you’d like, you may elaborate on your selection. I will read through the results, do the math and publish optimism scores (along with a few reader comments per team) in about two weeks.

Please keep written responses to the point. Most will be edited for brevity.
