MLB announced the 2024 Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners Sunday night on ESPN. No team dominated the list, but there were several teams that saw multiple players awarded.
In the National League, the Giants, Brewers and Rockies had two players apiece awarded with the Gold Glove.
San Francisco saw its standout defensive catcher Patrick Bailey and two-time Platinum Glove-winning third baseman Matt Chapman awarded. Bailey posted an elite 22 FRV and held an average pop time of 1.85. Chapman registered 11 OAA, per Baseball Savant.
Milwaukee’s Brice Turang and Sal Frelick each earned their first Gold Glove. Frelick posted seven OAA while Turang registered six OAA.
Colorado had shortstop Ezequiel Tovar and centerfielder Brenton Doyle won at their respective positions. Tovar stood out with 15 OAA while Doyle registered 16 OAA. Both were elite defenders in a hitter-friendly park.

Rounding out the National League’s Gold Glove winners were Braves pitcher Chris Sale, Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker, Cubs outfielder Ian Happ, and Pirates utility man Jared Triolo.
Sale, a 14-year veteran of the league, received his first career Gold Glove. He adds the Gold Glove to his Triple Crown, eight All-Star nods and 2018 World Series ring.
Walker is now a three-time Gold Glove winner after posting another tremendous defensive season. Walker’s defense will be a huge negotiation chip in his upcoming free agency.
Happ is also a three-time Gold Glove winner after earning the 2024 award.
Triolo earned his first career Gold Glove award in the third season that MLB has awarded a Gold Glove to a utility player.
