Former Maryland men’s basketball forward Tafara Gapare committed to Villanova on Thursday.

Gapare is the final Maryland outgoing transfer to officially find his new home. He followed former Maryland head coach Kevin Willard to Philadelphia after spending one season under Willard in College Park.

Gapare will join the fourth program of his collegiate career. He previously played for UMass, Georgia Tech and Maryland.

Last season, Gapare averaged 3.4 points and 1.9 rebounds in 32 games under Willard. He had a role off the bench early in the season and averaged 10.4 minutes a night, taking a backseat to Maryland’s ‘Crab Five’ starting lineup.
