The 2025 NBA Draft Combine is underway as more than 75 athletes are gathered in Chicago this week to showcase their skill sets. A total of 75 players received invites to the combine and a select few of NBA G League Elite Camp attendees who “showed-out” will also attend.
Of the 75 original invites, the Kentucky Wildcats are represented by Koby Brea and Otega Oweh.
While Brea has no further college eligibility and hopes to find an NBA home with his sharp-shooting abilities, there’s optimism that Oweh will use this experience to learn what NBA executives and scouts would like to see him add to his game due to another year at UK.
Oweh’s return to Kentucky for his junior year (second in Lexington) is critical to the layout of next season’s roster and the team’s overall success. He was Mark Pope’s most consistent scorer last season and brings a level of experience & leadership that can’t be replicated.
While there is no guarantee that an NBA team (or teams) won’t fall in love with Oweh and give him the idea that he could be selected in the first round of this summer’s draft, it’s widely believed this is just a “test run” at the combine and he’ll be back in Lexington this fall.
Amari Williams, Andrew Carr and Lamont Butler received invites to the NBA G League Elite Camp. They participated in several 5-on-5 scrimmage games and multiple drills in front of NBA teams. The full results of Saturday & Sunday’s games can be found here.
