See where Michigan State star Jase Richardson lands in the latest NBA Mock Draft from CBS Sports
Michigan State basketball star Jase Richardson has slipped in the latest NBA mock drafts, but Cameron Salerno of CBS Sports still has him landing as a top 20 pick.
Salerno released an updated NBA mock draft on CBS Sports on Thursday, which still has Richardson safely going in the first round. He has projected Richardson to go No. 20 overall to the Miami Heat.
Here’s what Salerno had to say about Richardson:
“Richardson would be a fun fit with the Heat. Richardson saw his stock rise throughout the 2024-25 college basketball season. He started in a reserve role at Michigan State and blossomed into the best player on Tom Izzo’s squad. Richardson is a great mid-range shooter and was fantastic at finishing around the rim during his lone season in East Lansing.”
Richardson starred for the Spartans in his lone season at Michigan State, helping lead the green-and-white to the Big Ten title and Elite Eight finish in the NCAA Tournament. He finished the season averaging 12.1 points per game and shooting above 40 percent from three-point range.
When Richardson initially declared for the NBA Draft, he was projected by many as a lottery pick. Since then, however, he has started to slip down the draft board in many mocks. At this point in time, Richardson seems set on remaining in the draft despite his recent slip, but he does still have the option to return to Michigan State for another season should he decide to do so. He must make that decision by May 28 to preserve his college eligibility.
