The NBA conference semi-finals have wrapped up, leaving four teams – Oklahoma City Thunder, New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers, and Minnesota Timberwolves – to battle it out for the chance to play in the 2025 NBA Finals for the most prestigious trophy in men’s basketball.
In the East, the Indiana Pacers knocked out the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers, 4-1, to set up a second finals battle in as many years against the New York Knicks.
The Knicks clinched their conference finals berth after seeing off the number two seed and defending champions, the Boston Celtics, whose campaign ultimately was dimmed by the injury to star Jayson Tatum.
Out West, the Minnesota Timberwolves advanced after beating the Golden State Warriors 4-1. Anthony Edwards and company made the most of a wounded Warriors, whose offensive talisman, Stephen Curry, was forced out of action in the second quarter of Game 1 with a hamstring injury.
The Timberwolves are now in the Western Conference final for the second straight year, where they will face the No.1 seed, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, and Alex Caruso punished an ailing Denver Nuggets in Game 7 to secure their first conference final ticket since 2016.
Just as with all the series in the previous rounds, the NBA Conference Finals will be a best-of-seven, with the team with the better regular-season record afforded the home court advantage.
