The NBA’s trade season unofficially starts on Sunday, Dec. 15, when a majority of players that signed contracts in the offseason will become trade eligible for the first time this season.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that there will be a flury of trades between now and the NBA trade deadline on Thursday, Feb. 6, but there’s reason to believe teams will be active in the coming months.
The Golden State Warriorskicked things off with a splashy trade on Saturday, but they might not be done yet.
Here are the latest NBA trade rumors:

Warriors closing in on Schröder
The Golden State Warriors are finalizing a deal to acquire Brooklyn Nets guard Dennis Schröder, according to a report from ESPN on Saturday.
The Warriors will reportedly send De’Anthony Melton, who underwent season-ending surgery in December, and three second-round picks to the Nets in exchange for Schröder and a second-round pick.
Butler Golden State’s next move?
If the Miami Heat decide to move on from Jimmy Butler before the trade deadline, the Warriors are expected to have serious interest, according to the Stein Line.
It was previously reported by ESPN that Butler is open to playing for the Warriors, in addition to the Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and the Phoenix Suns. Butler’s agent, Bernie Lee, has refuted those reports.
Pelicans open for business?
The New Orleans Pelicans are expected to listen to offers for Brandon Ingram at the trade deadline as a result of the two parties being far apart on extension talks. However, rival executives are also expected to gauge the availability of Herb Jones and CJ McCollum, according to ESPN.
Ingram, Dejounte Murray and Zion Williamson have yet to play together this season.
Lakers looking for size
The Los Angeles Lakers are targeting a big man and a point guard to upgrade the supporting cast of their star duo, LeBron James and Anthony Davis, according to ESPN. The Lakers have been heavily linked to Washington Wizards center Jonas Valančiūnas.
Wizards fire sale
The Washington Wizards are widely expected to trade both Malcolm Brogdon and Jonas Valančiūnas before the trade deadline, according to The Stein Line, and they could entertain offers for Kyle Kuzma, too.
The Wizards have the worst record in the NBA at 3-20.
