The 2025 Southeastern Conference tournament has concluded, and now all of college baseball sits on pins and needles as the committee determines how the NCAA tournament will be organized.

Texas baseball bowed out in the quarterfinals, as Tennessee pushed past them 7-5 in extra innings. Despite the loss, the Longhorns have positioned themselves to earn a top seed with a 42-12 overall record and 22-8 conference record in a loaded SEC. Its a remarkable year one effort for new head coach Jim Schlossnagle, who was selected SEC Coach of the Year.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M head coach Michael Earley suffered through one of the most disappointing seasons in NCAA history. The preseason No. 1 team dealt with multiple injuries to key players and failed to recapture the form that led them to the College World Series Finals last season. The Aggies took the Tigers to the brink in the quarterfinals of the SEC tournament, but fell 4-3. Texas A&M went 30-26 overall and 11-19 in conference play, not ideal for its NCAA Tournament outlook.

Texas A&M had a few high watermark moments in 2025, with series wins over Tennessee, Arkansas and LSU. However, that might not be enough to overcome disappointing losses to Missouri, Georgia and Kentucky.
