NCAA analyst compares Boozer twins to legendary college basketball duo

Cameron and Cayden Boozer are part of the new wave of second-generation NBA prospects. What started with Steph Curry, Gary Payton II, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jalen Brunson will continue with the likes of Bronny James, Kiyan Anthony, Alijah Arenas and the Boozer brothers.

They were two of the most sought-after players in the 2025 recruiting class before committing to the Duke Blue Devils, a team that had Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel last season.

The future is bright for this tandem, who will have the chance to lead Duke back to the NCAA tournament’s Final Four. The ACC team has unfinished business after the Houston Cougars stopped them in the semifinals last season.

Boozer brothers get huge comparison from college expert

Cameron and Cayden are drawing plenty of positive comments about their games and ceiling. College basketball reporter Jeff Goodman discussed the pair’s potential on the “99.9 The Fan” last week, comparing them to OSU’s former duo of Mike Conley and Greg Oden.

Goodman noted the similarities between the Boozers and the guard and center who led the Buckeyes to the NCAA championship game in 2006, even in the way they handled themselves and the attention they attracted.

“They are special,” he said. “I said this about my comparison to John yesterday – Mike Conley to Cayden. But they’re different players. Nobody thought he’d (Conley) be a one-and-done and they’re different because Conley had blazing speed.”

“But more the fact that Conley played in Oden’s shadow,” Goodman added. “He came in and nobody … he was kind of the sidekick. It’s the same thing with Cayden to Cam; he’s kind of in the shadow there. Everybody talks about Cam being a double-double machine, which he is. Cayden’s really, really good.”

This is one of the most exciting duos in college basketball and they will have a big platform to showcase their talents with the Blue Devils.
