Picks to win the 2025 men’s NCAA baseball tournament
The Montgomery Advertiser’s Adam Cole and The Tennesseean’s Aria Gerson make their predictions for the men’s NCAA baseball tournament, including Arkansas, Vanderbilt and LSU.
With the first step to Omaha in the books, the second step to the College World Series is officially underway.
Over the course of the next handful of days, eight tickets to the CWS will be punched from the 16 remaining teams in the NCAA baseball tournament bracket that are competing in the super regionals.
No. 5 seed North Carolina opened up the Chapel Hill Super Regional with a thundering statement on June 6 by setting a new super regional program record of 18 runs on 17 hits in its 18-2 win over Arizona.
Two intriguing super regional host site locations are Louisville and Durham, based on the sole fact that Louisville and Duke are two of the seven unseeded teams still alive. The Cardinals and Blue Devils were rewarded with a super regional because of how the NCAA baseball tournament is structured: come out of their respective four-team pod regional as an unseeded team and get rewarded with a super regional host site.
The field for the CWS at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, can be filled out by June 8 or June 9, depending on whether the second set of super regional matchups that begin on June 7 need the “if necessary” Game 3 to be played.
Here’s what you need to know about who is hosting a super regional in the NCAA baseball tournament and more:
