The College World Series begins Friday, with eight teams competing to decide who will earn the right to play in the championship.

After UTSA upset Texas baseball in the Austin Regional, it fell to UCLA in the Los Angeles Super Regionals. And while much was made of the Southeastern Conference earning eight of the top 16 seeds in the tournament, only Arkansas and LSU made it to Omaha, Neb., for the CWS.

Those two SEC teams will face each other in the opening round, with either UCLA or Murray State awaiting. On the other side of the bracket, Coastal Carolina will take on Arizona, while Louisville and Oregon State clash.

The Longhorns are currently in full transfer portal mode, attempting to beef up their roster. Their injured ace, Jared Spencer, exhausted his collegiate eligibility in 2025; so did star first baseman Kimble Schuessler. Countless other key members of this season’s SEC championship squad will have decisions to make when the MLB draft commences on July 13 in Atlanta.

Here’s everything you need to know about the CWS.
