Daemen, Nova Southeastern, and Alabama Huntsville men’s basketball finished the season as the top three teams after not losing more than one game.
Washburn follows closely behind them at No. 4 after finishing the year on a four-game winning streak.
Here is what you need to know about the last Division II rankings ahead of the conference tournaments starting this week.
Biggest Riser: Lincoln Memorial
- Lincoln Memorial ended the regular season on a three-game win streak and was able to slide in as the No. 7 team to finish it.
- Throughout the year, the Splitters were ranked reasonably high all season but would take some losses here and there that would cause them to drop slightly.
- On the first day of the South Atlantic Conference tournament, on March 4th, Lincoln Memorial men’s basketballdefeated No. 8 seed Wingate to become the top seed.
Largest Dropper: Colorado School of Mines And Valdosta State
- Both teams dropped four spots in the final rankings of the season after losing one of their last two games. The Miners lost by one point to UCCS, and the Blazers lost to Montevallo on their senior day and last regular-season game of the year.
- Colorado School of Mines finally made it to the top five last week but dropped four spots to No. 9 to end the season. Valdosta State men’s basketball also fell four spots from No. 9 to No. 13 after that loss.
- The two teams can redeem themselves in the quarterfinals of their respective conferences on March 4th (6:30 p.m. ET for Valdosta State and 7:00 p.m. ET for Colorado School of Mines).
