Nebraska football shifted a few spots on its depth chart heading into this week’s return to Lincoln against UCLA.
Some of the changes were made to reflect injuries — fullback Barrett Liebentritt is no longer listed after breaking a bone in his back — but also changes in how Nebraska is approaching things.
Most notably, freshman wide receiver Jacory Barney Jr., is now listed at the slot position as the co-No. 1 with Janiran Bonner, while veteran Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda switches from the slot position to one of the outside wide receiver spots.
In the secondary, Nebraska now lists Tommi Hill and Ceyair Wright as the co-No. 1 corners — Hill didn’t travel to Ohio State and Wright earned a Blackshirt earlier this season for his play as a reserve defensive back. Nebraska also added freshman Mario Buford as one of the second-team safeties, replacing Derek Branch. On special teams, Nebraska has flipped the order of how place-kickers Tristan Alvano and John Hohl are listed. Hohl, who kicked three field goals against Ohio State, is now listed as the starting kicker over Alvano, who has battled an injury for most of the season.
