Schlabach has a No. 11 Notre Dame team facing No. 6 Ohio State on the road, while Bonagura has a No. 9 Irish squad taking on No. 8 Texas in Austin.
On Sunday, the AP Poll ranked Notre Dame as the No. 8 team in the nation. In that scenario, it would host No. 9 BYU (8-0) in the first round. The first official College Football Playoff rankings debut on Nov. 5.
